Skiing
EPIC SKIING
Well well well
In mid Decemeber everyone was saying that the 2011/12 season was going to be the worse ever, Chamonix had almost no snow....now it can't stop snowing.
I grabbed a sneaking few days in Cham this week to see what all the fuss was about and OMG....its pretty darn impressive.
Since I came home on thursday there has been another 70 cm on the mountains and a number of people have said that its the best ever.
My three days were great, all were spent crashing through amaing snow at the Grand Montet in Chamonix, first with just Guy, then Guy, Andy Eggleston, David Hope, Patrick and Klemen and finally on my own.
Skiing on one's own is quite odd, Ive never been great at skiing on my own and not just because of the danger aspect, more that I get bored with out being around people. Wednesday was different though, there is a lot going on with me right now, both good and bad, so skiing on my own was really quite special this time, it gave me time to reflect on things while still being in the place I love....the mountains. I found Wednesday beautiful, especailly when I was all alone in the L'Avancher Bowl just as the sun broke through the clouds.....I just stood there and soaked life in.......
The Alps are great right now so don't wait come and join us
