Kalymnos Rock Climbing Week
Our rock climbing courses in Kalymnos are a perfect week for the budding sport climber and rock junkie alike. Literally hundreds of routes set in the beautiful Mediterranean. Sun, sea and rock climbing - the perfect combination.
We focus on single pitch (bolt protected) sport climbing where climbers of different standards can happily climb routes at the same crag.
Who is it for?
- Beginner rock climbers - a great location to get started and progress fast.
- Indoor climbers - ideal for progressing to outdoor sport climbing
- Sport climbing junkies - push your grade!
Our experienced Rock Guides will make sure you get the most out of the weekend break. They will take you to the best crags with the most appropriate choice of routes, provide technique & performance coaching and teach good safety practices.
You will return a stronger, better climber and with a sun tan!

Kalymnos is a beautiful mediterranean island with world class rock climbing and a sea view. There are quality routes from french 5 to 8c! It really is a venue for all sport climbers at every level. A number of friendly cafe/bars and restaurants with great views make for relaxing evenings after a physical day at the crag and a dip in the pool...
Itinerary
Saturday: Arrive in Kalymnos and meet at the hotel Philoxeniain the evening.
Sunday - Friday: Rock climbing followed by a relaxing drink and a dip in the Med! (5 days guided, 1 free day)
Saturday: Departure and flight home.
Equipment
We provide ropes and quick draws. You should bring your own harnesses and rock shoes, but feel free to bring your favourite (lucky?) quick draws or rope with you too. There is a good climbing shop if you want to buy any climbing equipment, clothing, chalk and so on.
Getting to Kalymnos
Kalymnos has its own airport and a short taxi ride will bring you to the hotel. However flight schedules and costs usually make it better to fly to Kos, where you will need to spend a night before getting an early ferry (8am) to Kalymnos that takes about 20 minutes and costs about €8. If you travel via Kos we can happily wait for you at the Philoxenia before going rock climbing on Sunday morning - no problem!
