Chamonix Off-Piste Ski Clinics

Chamonix off-piste skiing clinics focus on doing a lot of skiing (because it's fun!) but pinning this around plenty of coaching and instruction from a top BASI ski instructor and a Mountain Guide. Flexibility is the key - at times a more structured instructional session is appropriate and at others on the hoof coaching is better. Keeping it relaxed and fun, we think, is the way forward...

The main aim of this week is to improve your off-piste skiing technique and you spend at least 3 days with a top BASI ski instructor, and up to 2 days with an IFMGA Ski Guide.

What to expect

Having a guide and an instructor gives the optimum balance of skills, from seeking out the best skiing which may be on a glacier, to expert technique tuition. Our unusually low ratios ensure quality coaching for everyone. You will come away from the week a better skier and more versed in avalanche/off piste safety.

We split our clinics into 2 levels so that everyone on the course is of a similar ability and looking for similar things out of the clinic. If you have specific goals, let us know!

You can expect to be skiing all day from first lift (legs allowing!) with some warm up runs to start with.

Who is it for?

If you fit our Intro or Intermediate off-piste skier definition then these clinics are for you! Check our ability levels for guidance, but essentially if you have skied off piste before, perhaps had some tuition, but are struggling to master it, these clinics are ideal. They are also a great ski holiday in themselves!

About Chamonix

Chamonix has truely world class off piste skiing. We will be skiing all around Chamonix using the best conditions available, this may include skiing on the glaciers of les Grands Montets and from the Aig du Midi (conditions allowing). Chamonix is famous for its long off piste runs with big vertical in stunning surroundings. There is ample terrain to keep off-piste skiers of all levels happy, and being nestled behind Mont Blanc it gets alot of snow!

The town is active and vibrant all year round and is an original mountain village that has grown to provide a good range of bars and restaurants, while still maintaining its charm.

Chalet Accommodation*

We stay in one of our comfortable Adventure Base Chalets, literally 6 minutes walk from the town centre's restaurants and bars. Breakfast and packed lunch are included leaving the evenings free for you to explore the delights of Chamonix.

Ability level: Intro
I have skied off piste at least several times and may have had some off piste instruction. I dream of effortlessly cruising fluffy powder away from the crowds, but at the moment, I’m not quite there! I struggle to link more than a few turns at a time and often have to traverse to avoid losing control or falling. I have limited control over where I turn and I’m afraid of picking up too much speed. I fall or stop frequently. I am looking forward to an intensive week improving my off piste technique!
Fitness Level: A
I can ski all day from first lift, only taking short breaks every so often. I can ski about 4000+m per day. I could hike up to an hour most days at a slow pace. I exercise once or twice a week for an hour or so, either a brisk walk or gentle run or something similar.

Everything was fantastic! I'll definitely need to come back to ski Mt. Blanc and climb the Tour Ronde, but Gran Paradiso was a fantastic substitute. Graham is an excellent guide and we got along really well.
