This epic week seeks out the best steep descents in the Vanoise. You will be visiting such classic areas as Val d'Isere, la Plagne, les Arcs, 3 Vallees and St Foy. All these places have superb steeps, couloirs and general off-piste and never fail to impress.

We will use a combination of uplifts, boot-packing and skinning to access the descents, with up to a couple of hours a day of uphill effort.

Your Guide

This week is led by Simon Christy, a top level BASI instructor who lives in Bozel just down from Courcheval.  This is his back yard and his playground.

Who is it for?

This week is for adventurous off piste skiers who are Advanced or Expert level. We will teach you how to skin, boot pack and other essential backcountry skills during the week.

Course Base

The course base for the first week will be Bourg St Maurice. The second week will be based out of Brides-les-Bains.
