FAQs
Do you do Private Guiding? Yes! In fact much of our work is private/custom guiding, for individuals or groups. What if the Course dates are not convenient for me? Get in touch! Often we can put together another course to suit you, particularly if you are a group. Who will our Guide be? The vast majority of the guiding is done by our regular guiding team, headed up by Guy and Kenton. Some of the time we employ other Guides, particularly during busy periods - but don't worry, they are always well known to us and chosen because they are very good! How do I get to Chamonix? Check our links page for details. From the UK it is best to fly to Geneva and take an airport transfer direct to Chamonix (cost effective, convenient & door to door service). You can book your airport transfer by emaiing us. Make sure you book it early, as they book up quickly. Do I need Insurance? Yes. We strongly recommend you get specialist travel insurance to cover cancellation, mountain rescue and medical costs at the time of booking. Watch this space, as Dream Guides is in the process of negotiating competitively priced travel insurance that meets the specific needs of those who book with us. Otherwise we recommend Snowcard or the BMC for insurance. Where can I find out more about my up-coming trip? The essential information about our trips can be found on the respective 'details' pages (price, dates, itinerary, kit list etc), easily found via our ski/ski tour/alpine climb page links. For expeditions download the Info Pack PDFs, via our expeditions page link. Then try our Gallery - it is an ever expanding source of information and hopefully inspiration... Lots of great photos to give you a feel for the trip and text to add some details. Of course you can also email us! Is accommodation included? Flexible valley accommodation on our Chamonix based courses is included in the Total Price and arranged through our partners at Adventure Base. Twin share with breakfast and packed lunch included, in a cosy chalet in Chamonix centre leaves you free to enjoy Chamonix's restaurants and bars in the evenings (just a few minutes walk away). Accommodation is also available for our Private Guiding trips. Where we stay in mountain refuges, generally we include this in the price. What about Heli-skiing? If you fancy getting up into the mountains (and the powder!) with less crowds and without using valuable leg strength to get there, heli-skiing is a great choice! Our backcountry ski weeks have an option for a day or two using a helicopter and we can organise privately guided trips too. The cost of the helicopter is not included as it is so weather dependant... Do you guide snowboarders? Yes we do! Guy has several regular snowboarding clients that return again and again. If you are a snow boarder, we can offer you private guiding, or any of our courses on a bespoke basis (minimum booking of 3). Generally we feel it is best to offer courses to groups of skiers OR groups of boarders, so that everyone's needs can be met. Get in touch if you have a question! Can we buy customized souvenir clothing for our trip? Absolutely! We have teamed up with 'Original T' to offer customized t-shirts, polo shirts, hoodies and more. Visit our online shop to choose which Dream Guides logo you would like on the front and add your own text to the back - choose the garment and choose the colour and size - all online. | |||||||||||||
